Molcajete is a type of mortar base with a heavy grinder made from Stone-Lava, that used to be made by hand by the Mexican people since the ancient times of the Aztecs and one of the most traditional Mexican cooking utensils.

Today, many Mexican people are still using it, to prepare all sorts of salsas and special dishes. Of course, you can still make a great “Guacamole” by simply smashing the ingredients.

Mexican people use the Molcajete as it helps to extract and retain all the flavours of the ingredients when griding them, giving a very special taste and texture.
